Left 4 dead 2 help??

I live in Australia and I hear that l4d 2 has been edited by the producers because Australia said they weren't going to release the game unless the producers edit and make the game less bloody and gory for australia only. Is this true? And if so tell me exactly what they changed and/or edited in the game.
