I sumiited an offer with a$2000 cashiers check as deposit to buy a bank owned home..?

Due to some unexpected family problem, before opening of escrow, I completed a withdrawal and cancellation request through my real estate agent. The problem is that now the bank is not returning my cashiers check, which was payable to the order of escrow company. It is more than one month from the date I signed the withdrawal, the bank hasn't done anything. My agent has called the selling agent many times, but he says the bank has all the control over the situation and he can't do anything. Can somebody who has the knowledge and experience tell me what should I do to get my cashiers check back. Thanks
