I have leopard ears for a costume, thought my dress was leopard but been told it's cheetah. whats the diff?

i just can't seem to tell the difference between the two prints, some are obvious than others but what really makes them different? i'd hate for someone to ask me on halloween if i was a leopard or a cheetah... don't wanna look dumb if you know what i mean. either way i'm wearing both together just wanna know what to call myself!
